This is the episode I wanted, now we understand why Margarete was so obsessed with winning Love Live, her entire dream depended in her getting the first place, but Liella owned her... which is understandable, because while Margarete's performance was amazing... her stuff is pretty much more of the same, which is why Liella with its infinite creativity was able to surpass her.

Still, I think Margarete has it rough, because it's clear as day that all spotlights are all over Kanon... and I'm baffled that Margarete is fine to trail her shadow just to achieve her dreams, that's not a good mentality in my opinion, but I guess it is what it is.

In any case... looks like we're getting the final drama of the series, will Kanon chose to throw away such a massive opportunity and thus screwing over Margarete further in the process, or she will stay with Liella for one more idol year? There's also the fact that we have to see if Liella manages to win Love Live... I'm sure next week will be an intense finale!

Yeah, I went back and binged a couple episodes and noticed the same thing. Episode 9 was a duet with Keke and Sumire.

I like Marga but she lacks grace in defeat, didn't expect her to lose it and go crazy on the mic saying that she isn't satisfied with the results, second place for someone who performed solo against groups of idols is still pretty impressive not to mention is not something many girls in this series pulled of!

It took some time, but I feel like I'm finally properly invested in Margarete's character. Obviously she still has a ways to go before she can be considered "likeable", and she's clearly got some serious issues to work on, but now we at least have some insight into why she is the way she is (beyond mere surface-level arrogance), debatably sympathetic circumstances to consider (without necessarily forgiving everything right away, mind you), and we even got an unexpected glimpse of her cute side.

At this stage, I still have no idea if she's meant to forever be a rival, or if she'll end up joining Liella!, and I think that's a good thing. It's usually much more clear-cut based on what little experience I have with Love Live!, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of her character development :)

If I have to be honest. I LOVE, love live but I dislike situations like this when a character is given a BIG opportunity to reach their dreams but they need to abandon school idoling for it.

It feels unnatural and inorganic when the person declines like how the stuff with Kotori was a massive bullshit in my opinion. But If they don’t decline then what will be of the group ? That is why I like how they handled that in Sunshine when Chika told Riko to go for that Piano thing instead of selfishly wanting her to stay with them BUT that was not something that would keep Riko out of the group for that long so Riko was still able to be in the group so the problem was naturally solved.

Now what will Kanon chose ? We know that from a story perspective She will more than likely decline but I think it is such a shame that She has to decline which makes me feel unsatisfied with this drama

Margarete is arguably the most dis-likable character added to the Love Live! universe to date. Arrogant, completely void of any tact and mostly likely a self-centered egomaniac. Once they're done with her redemption arc, she'll make a fine addition to the show when she inevitably joins Liella in season 3 of Love Live! Kanon Shibuya!
